Broadcast in two series on RTÉ, Ard Rí is a radio drama set in ancient Ireland. Featuring a cast including Fair City's Daithí Mac Suibhne, the show brought listeners on a fantasy adventure through an Ireland seen through a magical lens, aimed at children 7-11 years old. The show was successful enough to warrant a second series and is being adapted into a children's novel.
This show combined folklore and fact into mini episodes detailing the history of Ireland, and dramas telling some of the more famous folk tales of the nation. The show broadcast on RTÉ and featured a cast of actors bringing each part to life.
